Today was a very big day! We were up at 4 AM. We got all of our luggage ready to go and then had a nice greasy breakfast!

After breakfast, we got onto an airbus. Last year, I flew on a C-17 which is a military cargo plane. The airbus was so much more posh! We had flight attendants who brought around coffee and tea, we each got our own row of seats, our own windows and we could even hear each other talk!

As we approached “The Ice,” we could start to see some really cool formations in the sea ice. Some were islands, some were icebergs stuck in the frozen ocean, and eventually we even saw the continent! We even got to go up to the front of the plane and hang out with the pilots and check out the view they have!

After landing on the frozen ocean, we took some “Hero” shots as well as some other cool shots of our new home. Finally, we loaded up on “Ivan, the Terra bus.” It is a MASSIVE monster truck looking school bus that is used to haul a lot of people around.

The weather was great here today and I even got a great view of “Observation Hill” or “Ob Hill” for short. It was an amazing day filled with incredible scenery and meeting up with some incredible friends from “The Ice” that I made last year. I am really looking forward to another amazing season.
