Went fishing again today! How cool is it that I get to go fishing almost every day here?!?! Here I am in the back of the Pisten Bully.

Here is a picture of the Ice Pier. This is where the huge boats dock when they come in from the ocean. It takes almost a year to make it. They flood it and pack it with metal to make sure it is strong enough. The last one lasted seven years and they had to make a new one last year. However, because all of the sea ice blew out last year, the Ice Pier also floated away…with thousands of dollars of equipment on it. It just floated out into the ocean! But during a helicopter recon trip this week, they found the old one! So hopefully they will be able to recover some of that equipment and use it on this new Ice Pier.

Here I am in the driver’s seat of the Pisten Bully. It is a really fun vehicle to drive…especially since costs $250,000!

There were some guys from town checking out the Ob Tube while we were fishing and we invited them into the fish hut to warm up. Then we let them do some fishing as well.

My friend Dannie is on a scuba diving team and will be leaving for a site called New Harbor on Monday. She still had not hiked up Ob Hill yet so I said that I would go with her. Good thing I did, it was so beautiful! Here are some pics of our hike on the way up.

At the summit.

Then, we decided to glissade down the mountain. Glissading is a way to descend a snow covered mountain by sliding on your behind :)

Dannie found a part of the mountain that was all covered in snow so we were able to glissade for about 1/2 of a mile all the way down the mountain! We started all the way at the top of the photo!

At the end of the night, we had another incredible sunset. I just can't get enough of these. However, they are not really sunsets as there is light out at every minute of the day. We are coming up to our last sunset very soon.

And it looks like my panoramic pictures will upload really nicely so I will continue to take these as well.
