I am a graduate student at Portland State University on my first research expedition to Antarctica. I am stationed at McMurdo station on Ross Island. Our research is focused on examining how temperature affects biological processes using the cold adapted Antarctic fish as our model organisms. I will be updating my blog as often as possible with stories and pictures of both the science and the non-science activities that we are involved in.

Friday November 11, 2011
I was finally starting to recover on Friday. I still slept well past 11am, but I was able to stay awake for most of the day. I didn't do anything but lay in bed and watch a movie though. Brad gave his lecture on the Antarctic fish on Friday night and I was happy that I was feeling well enough to go to it. I have seen him talk about these incredible fish so many times and it never gets old. I know that I am a big nerd, but they are just so cool and exciting to learn about! Again, I didn't take any pictures today, but tomorrow is a new day.
